however, money is still a tight prospect for many.

Just because you can’t afford the latest AAA games for R400+ doesn’t mean there aren’t any games worth your time.

Therefore, to save you sifting through the hundreds of titles on sale, we’ve created a short list of excellent titles on sale for less than R100.

First up is the first and only technicality on this list.

BioShock: The Collection – R115.80

While the complete collection is over R100, that doesn’t mean you can’t just buy one of the games offered in the bundle.

The remastered versions of BioShock 1 and 2 are R43.80 each, and BioShock Infinite, the third game, is going for R79.75.

The BioShock games are often considered masterpieces of storytelling and gameplay, so even if the value of the full collection isn’t enough, you can easily pick up one of the games for less than R100.

Little Nightmares – R99.75

Little Nightmares is a horror game where you play as a little girl in a yellow coat as she makes her way through a distorted and terrifying world.

Its puzzle-like gameplay has you ‘fight’ the horrible enemies by using the environment and your small stature to your advantage.

It’s an excellent title – particularly if you enjoy horror games such as Resident Evil and feel like something a bit different.

Portal 2 – R15.80

The legendary coop puzzle game is on sale for the price of a packet of chips, and no matter which way you look at it, that’s an excellent deal.

While Portal 2 is unlikely to give you hundreds of hours of gameplay, it is nonetheless a brilliant title with enjoyable puzzles and brilliant writing.

Hollow Knight – R75.90

If you’ve spent time playing Metroidvania games and soulslikes, you’re likely familiar with Hollow Knight.

Often considered to be among the best in its genre, Hollow Knight delivers a brilliant and balanced challenge for those looking for something harder to play.

Its sequel is also fast approaching, so trying out the first game isn’t a bad idea.

Hades – R90.00

A godlike-roguelike, to quote the game’s trailers, Hades very much lives up to its divine setting.

Brilliant writing, excellent combat and a core gameplay loop ideal both for hours-long sessions or twenty-minute breaks make Hades perfect for any situation.

Hades is perhaps one of the best, if not the best, isometric roguelikes currently on Steam and getting it for less than R100 is a Promethean steal.

The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth – R52.50

The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth is a roguelike known for its gruesome visuals and challenging combat.

It is a great game to play whenever you have a free moment but can’t afford to devote several hours to gaming.

You can pick it up for thirty minutes, try a few runs and then come back later without issue.

Disco Elysium – The Final Cut – R76.65

This is a game that, while technically centred around solving a murder, it is actually more about solving the mystery of who you are.

Its massive amount of voice dialogue, skill-based checks and a vast array of interactions will keep you playing, provided you’re not averse to a lot of text.

Metal Gear Rising: REVENGEANCE – R79.75

Not the most serious title on this list, but for less than R100, the entirely over-the-top action of Revengeance is well worth it.

It’s a game that any action game fan worth their salt needs to play at least once – even if only to get some context for all the Senator Armstrong memes.

Fallout: New Vegas – R32.70

The legendary Fallout 3 spinoff game made by Obsidian is often considered to be the crowning jewel of the Fallout games.

So for R32.70, there aren’t many reasons not to give the RPG a chance.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – R79.99

While Cyberpunk 2077 has tarnished the reputation of CD Projekt Red, no one can dispute that Wild Hunt is a masterpiece of story, gameplay, visuals, and world-building.

Regardless of your opinions on Cyberpunk, if you like RPGs and fantasy, you should play The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.

Stellaris – R71.25

Stellaris offers everything you could hope for if you’d like to build an intergalactic empire and craft and manage its planets, peoples and fleets.

This game has tons of DLC – so you enjoy it, it could keep you occupied for hundreds of hours.

Cities: Skylines – R99.75

If you enjoy city builders and the challenge of ordering streets and making sure everyone has electricity (insert Eskom joke), then Cities: Skyline is an excellent choice.

Building your ideal city has always been an enjoyable way to spend an afternoon.

Frostpunk – R43.75

If you enjoy building a city but would prefer something that has more dire challenges than power cuts and water shortages, then the icy steampunk dystopia of Frostpunk is the ideal option.

Frostpunk tasks players with building and managing the last city in the world and keeping it alive as the temperature continuously drops. This requires careful planning and hard choices.

Subnautica – R87.50

If survival games are your thing and you enjoy managing your resources, building a base, and dealing with giant monsters trying to kill you, then you should try Subanutica, which does all that with the added twist of being underwater.

If you enjoy it and finish it, its sequel, Subnautica: Below Zero, is also on sale for less than R100.

The Forest – R32.50

The Forest is another brilliant survival base builder where you’re stranded on an island and must struggle to survive as you unlock the secrets tucked away in its depths.

This involves foraging for food, supplies and the materials necessary to build your base while fending off attacks from ghoulish, malformed monsters.

Solasta: Crown of the Magister – R87.60

DND is fun, but not everyone has the time or friends interested in it to experience its party-based fun.

If you would like to play DND but lack the time and/or friends, then Solasta is one of the best adaptions of the board game to a digital format.

If you enjoy the base game, you’ll also be pleased to know it’s constantly getting new content.

Stardew Valley – R95.40

If you enjoy the gentle, peaceful process of slowly building up resources and buildings while forming relationships with NPCs, and prefer to avoid fast-paced, hard-hitting combat, then Stardew Valley is a brilliant choice for you.

It’s simple yet engaging gameplay will see you go from owning one run-down house and a weed-ridden field to helming a massive automated farm and a mansion-sized house that will keep you playing longer than you’d expect.

It’s the definition of ‘just one more hour’ gaming that’s always so dangerous to curfews.

The Sims 4 – R87.48

We couldn’t make this list without adding in a Sims game, and in this case, the Sims 4 was on sale for less than R100.

Sims games are great fun, and The Sims 4 is no exception, so if you fancy some simulation fun, you could do far worse.

Read: The PS Plus July 2022 games have been confirmed

Here are several excellent games you can get for less than R100 during the Summer Sale on Steam.

[3
26323,85,24888
post-125627","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-pc","tag-less-than-r100","tag-steam","tag-summer-games
["GET
