Grand Theft Auto 6 pre-orders have opened in South Africa as of midnight, with the standard edition priced at R1,499<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The deluxe edition – which includes includes an exclusive collection of premium vehicles, weapons, and apparel – will retail for R1,899<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Both versions are available to pre-order on the PlayStation Store, as well as on the Xbox section of the Microsoft Store.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The US pre-order pricing had already been announced, with the Standard Edition and Ultimate Edition priced at $79.99 and $99.99 respectively. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

When factoring in VAT, local prices are therefore in line with US pricing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rockstar Games – the developer of the GTA series – has also announced that all purchases made before 20 November (the day after the game releases) will include additional in-game content.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This takes the form of the Vintage Vice City Pack, which is a collection of items that harken back to the popular GTA Vice City game.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cPlayers who pre-order digital versions of Grand Theft Auto VI will be able to begin pre-loading on 12 November 2026 to ensure they are able to play at launch on 19 November 2026,\u201d Rockstar Games said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe physical version of Grand Theft Auto VI, containing a download code inside the box, will be available starting 12 November 2026 to support pre-loading.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pre-orders finally open<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The release of pre-orders at midnight follows a long wait for fans of the series that has been riddled with delays.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rockstar first revealed that GTA 6 was in development in February 2022 and dropped its first trailer in December 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since then, an additional trailer was dropped in May 2025, with an initial release date tabled for 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, it was first delayed to 26 May 2026, and then delayed again to the current release date of 19 November 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Furthermore, the previous game in the series, GTA 5, was launched back in 2013 – and the 13 year gap between titles has become a regular source of humour online.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The sixth game in the series takes place in Vice City, a fictitious version of Miami, and features two main characters: Jason and Lucia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The story for GTA 6 centres on Jason and Lucia after a job goes wrong, as they get involved in a conspiracy that spans the state of Leonida.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
