Palworld has sold about 30.5 million copies across PC and consoles, according to estimates by Alinea Analytics.<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This totals an estimated gross revenue of $700 million to date.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to Alinea Analytics, Palworld’s impressive numbers make it one of the largest new gaming IPs in history.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

First launching into early access in January 2024, the game immediately went viral for its Pokemon-like “pals” and its engaging survival-combat gameplay loop.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The game recently exited early access with its 1.0 update, which went live on 25 June on Steam and 16 July on PlayStation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since the 1.0 release, Palworld has sold nearly 1.5 million copies on Steam alone, totalling $25 million in gross revenue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

An estimated $8 million additional revenue has been earned in the same period on PlayStation and Xbox.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“A calculated 30% launch discount for the 1.0 release (its lowest price point to date) gave Palworld a strong secondary sales surge across Steam (starting June 25th) and PlayStation (starting July 16th),” said Alinea Analytics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This surge resulted in daily active users increasing to about 3.7 million over the 18-20 July weekend (the first weekend since the PlayStation version launched).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The data company added that the two largest Palworld markets are the US and China, which each comprise 27% of the total playerbase.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Across all regions, 20% of Steam owners have logged over 100 hours in Palworld – a testament to the fact that Palworld cannot be written off as a Pokemon knock-off.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Players are invested in the IP for the long haul – which is why it is unsurprising that developer Pocketpair has plans for a new game in the works.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Palworld: Palfarm was announced last year, and will be a cosy farming game that offers a new twist on titles like Stardew Valley.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
