{"id":12912,"date":"2011-07-14T12:01:00","date_gmt":"2011-07-14T10:01:00","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"-0001-11-30T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"-0001-11-29T22:00:00","slug":"sony-says-psn-hack-was-a-great-experience-really-good-time","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mygaming.co.za\/news\/business\/12912-sony-says-psn-hack-was-a-great-experience-really-good-time","title":{"rendered":"Sony says PSN hack was a \u201cgreat experience, really good time\u201d"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In what might be the most baffling statement out of the company since Ken Kutaragi was forced into a sound-proofed retirement pod, Sony&rsquo;s Tim Schaaf has described the PSN hack as a &ldquo;great experience, really good time&rdquo;.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Though I wouldn&rsquo;t like to do it again,&rdquo; he tells <a href=\"http:\/\/venturebeat.com\/2011\/07\/13\/gamesbeat-2011-psn-downtime\/\" target=\"_blank\">VentureBeat.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Schaaf says that the disaster management and PR was more important than securing the network against intrusion in the first place, explaining that, &ldquo;A determined hacker will get you, the question is how you build your life so you&rsquo;re able to cope with those things.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>For those of you who&rsquo;ve only recently arrived from outer space, the security breach compromised 77 million user accounts, and resulted in the entire PlayStation Network going offline for 23 days during April and May.<\/p>\n<p>Sony has subsequently been criticised for storing users&rsquo; personal data in unencrypted text files, as well as taking over a week to confirm what was actually going on.
