Aaaaaaaand just when you thought that whole ‘GAMES MAKE PEOPLE DO BAD STUFF” thing had finally gone away forever, it turns out the guy responsible for murdering over 80 people in Oslo over the weekend had apparently recommended Call of Duty as “training simulation” for a war on Islam.<\/p>\n
“I just bought Modern Warfare 2, the game,” wrote Anders Breivik in his mad 1500-page manifesto, 2083: A European Declaration of Independence.<\/p>\n
“It is probably the best military simulator out there and it’s one of the hottest games this year. … I see MW2 more as a part of my training-simulation than anything else. I’ve still learned to love it though and especially the multiplayer part is amazing. You can more or less completely simulate actual operations.”<\/p>\n
Breivik, 32, was arrested shortly after opening fire on a youth camp in Oslo, killing 85 people, and is also under investigation for an office bombing earlier in the day in which 7 people died. It’s probably safe to assume he won’t be offered any sponsorship by Activision.<\/p>\n
