{"id":13222,"date":"2011-07-29T13:55:00","date_gmt":"2011-07-29T11:55:00","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"-0001-11-30T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"-0001-11-29T22:00:00","slug":"ea-stereoscopic-3d-is-an-epic-fail","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mygaming.co.za\/news\/business\/13222-ea-stereoscopic-3d-is-an-epic-fail","title":{"rendered":"EA: Stereoscopic 3D is an epic fail"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Looks like it isn&rsquo;t just consumers who don&rsquo;t give a toss about 3D &#8211; now even the industry that wants us to want 3D is increasingly disillusioned about it all.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We have not seen a big uptake [in 3D gaming],&#8221; EA chief John Riccitiello said during an annual shareholder meeting yesterday (via <a href=\"http:\/\/venturebeat.com\/2011\/07\/28\/ea-chief-stereoscopic-3d-gaming-is-a-dud-so-far\/\" target=\"_blank\">VentureBeat<\/a>). &#8220;We have not seen a big uptake in 3D TVs in the home [either].<\/p>\n<p>He pointed also to the underwhelming launch of Nintendo&rsquo;s 3DS, which is about to see a global price cut in response to poor sales.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We are not here trying to drive a market.
