Today, 26 August 2011, sees 505 Games and developer HB Studios release Rugby World Cup 2011 to the South African market. The game is available on Xbox 360 and PlayStation3, carrying a recommended price tag of R599.<\/p>\n

In just over two weeks time the battle for the Web Ellis Cup begins in earnest, with New Zealand kicking off against the powerful Tongans in Auckland. The official Rugby World Cup 2011 videogame allows players to recreate these and many other moments from the tournament: taking their pick of the 20 teams, guiding them through the pool phase and onto the final.<\/p>\n

Players also get the chance to fight for the glory of their chosen nation online, challenging other players to one-on-one matches on Xbox LIVE and PlayStation Network.<\/p>\n

505 Games and HB studios have secured a partnership with the South African Rugby Union (SARU) granting use of the Rugby World Cup 2011 South African team strip, emblem, and many players’ likenesses within the game.<\/p>\n

An experienced commentary team, including Stuart Barnes and Miles Harrison, Philippe Sella and Eric Bayle, and Greg Clark and Sean Fitzpatrick, feature in the game.<\/p>\n
