Indie developer Mojang, known for being the company formed on the back of the success of Markus Persson’s Minecraft, is working on a new title named scrolls. The game is a digital collectible card and board game hybrid. Collaborators on the project include Penny-Arcade’s Jerry Holkins, who is working on the story, and Jakob Porser as lead designer.<\/p>\n
Not much has been revealed about the game, but it has already making headlines. Bethesda decided to sue Mojang over the name Scrolls, because it will be confused with The Elder Scrolls franchise. In retaliation Persson challenged Bethesda to a Quake duel to settle the dispute.<\/p>\n
According to the Scrolsl website, the game offers “new and unique game play where you fight to outmanoeuvre your opponent on the battlefield using the destructive powers in your collection of magical scrolls. Tear your opponent limb from limb with the might of your summoned armies, lay waste to the defenses with the obliterating power of your siege weapons or open up the very skies and let bolts of lightning shower his minions until only ash remains. The road to victory is yours to choose. Obtain the powerful scrolls and decide which ones you will take to battle as you fight to become the mightiest Magician of all.”<\/p>\n
