PC gamers are being spoilt with the long awaited sequel to an iconic turn-based strategy series with Might and Magic Heroes VI. The only thing keeping our excitement just a little bit at bay is the likelihood that it will ship with Ubisoft’s draconian always-on-internet DRM.<\/p>\n
That’s not all PC gamers will be getting exclusively, however, because Tropico 4 unlocks on Steam today, and will be available at local retail in the next few weeks.<\/p>\n

Also coming to Steam this month is PC exclusive sci-fi shooter, Hard Reset, which is looking quite interesting, alongside Red Orchestra 2 which will be just what WWII shooter fans have been craving since all the big military FPS franchises went modern.<\/p>\n

PS3 highlights<\/strong><\/p>\n PS3 fanboys will be getting sweaty hands over the prospect of Resistance 3. Set in 1957, Resistance 3 will present a world where an alien race known as the Chimera have successfully occupied earth, destroying 90% of its inhabitants.<\/p>\n Having given up the fight, the surviving humans have resigned themselves to hiding in the shadows of the destruction, until protagonist Joseph Capelli meets Dr. Fyodor Malikov – a man with a unique plan to deliver a potentially devastating blow to the Chimera forces.<\/p>\n Resistance 3 will bring this iconic PS3 franchise into the age of stereoscopic 3D gaming, as well as offer PlayStation Move support.<\/p>\n Also coming exclusively to PS3 this month is the ICO & Shadow of the Colossus Classics HD pack, which is due out at the end of the month. Both titles are considered absolute classics, and the HD pack will let you experience them in 1080p, with trophy and 3D support. Both games will ship on a single Blu-ray disk.<\/p>\n Xbox 360 highlights<\/strong><\/p>\n Without a doubt, one of the biggest games due out this month is Gears of War 3. Alongside Halo’s Master Chief, Marcus Fenix is one of the console’s most celebrated icons. Gears of War and Gears of War 2 remain two must-play Xbox 360 games, providing some of the best third-person shooter action available today.<\/p>\n With over 1 million pre-orders already made, Microsoft can be sure that Gears of War 3 will be even bigger than the previous games. It will also be the final game in the current story arc.<\/p>\n General highlights <\/strong><\/p>\n While the PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 are all getting a healthy dose of exclusive action this month, there is no shortage of multi-platform heavy hitters.<\/p>\n Driver San Francisco is out on PC, PS3 and Xbox 360, and early indications suggest that it is the best in the series yet, although that really is not saying much. Then there is Warhammer 40k: Space Marine, which we got a chance to play last week. Check out our hands-on preview. <\/a><\/p>\n Dead Island is easily one of the most interesting games due out in September.
