Rugby fans rejoice! Megarom last night announced that Jonah Lomu Rugby Challenge will be available at local retail today (7 September 2011) instead of tomorrow as previously planned. The game will be available on both PS3 and Xbox 360.<\/p>\n

According to Megarom “This decision comes with immense pressure and enthusiasm from fans and retailers alike, looking to get the game as soon as possible. Australia and New Zealand have already released Jonah Lomu Rugby Challenge; within the first week the game has received unprecedented sales and is now selling out in these territories.”<\/p>\n

Broadly known as “Rugby Challenge”, the game is being released in Australia as Wallabies Rugby Challenge, All Blacks Rugby Challenge in New Zealand, and Jonah Lomu Rugby Challenge everywhere else.<\/p>\n

Developed by Sidhe and published by Tru Blu Entertainment, the game sadly lacks official Springbok Rugby licensing, although it does have the exclusive rights to the All Blacks, Wallabies and various Australasian club teams.<\/p>\n

The game boasts 98 teams, 31 stadia and 11 competitions including the Tri Nations, Quad Nations, and Bledisloe Cup. It does not have official Rugby World Cup licensing, but you can play in the “World Cup”.<\/p>\n

It also features extensive player, team and competition customization, which means that if you’re not happy with the generic player, team and tournament replacements due to a lack of licensing, you can rename and customize them yourself.<\/p>\n
