The Minecraft version 1.8 “Adventure Update” is out this week (8 September, more or less, pending the successful completion of some “crucial work<\/a>”), and to celebrate the impending arrival of raw chicken and an inevitable salmonella holocaust, here’s a couple of new trailers.<\/p>\n

The update features heaps of new stuff<\/a>, including new crafting recipes, a new Creative Mode, new mobs, new biomes, new combat mechanics and critical hits, randomly generated dungeons, NPC villages, and a multiplayer server list, as well as loads of fixes and whatnot.<\/p>\n

Minecraft will be officially all grown up over 18-19 November, with the first ever MineCon event happening in Las Vegas, featuring:<\/p>\n

•    Official Minecraft launch
•    Keynote speeches (including one by our very own Notch)
•    Build contests
•    Breakout classes with all different Minecraft topics
•    Costume contests
•    Exhibits by leading gaming and Minecraft related companies
•    Meeting friends from around the world
•    Commemorative merchandise<\/p>\n
