The Pokémon world is apparently in for a “massive shock” announcement this Sunday, via Japanese TV show, Pokémon Smash.<\/p>\n

According to a post over on fansite Serebii.net<\/a>, Pokémon director Junichi Masuda is scheduled to make an appearance on the show, and deliver the “massive shock” announcement in person.<\/p>\n

“While it is possible that the announcement could be unrelated to a new game such as the reveal of Keldeo or the other new Pokémon, his announcements in the past similar to this have ended up being new games,” writes Joe Merrick.<\/p>\n

“This follows on from Pokémon Company CEO Tsunekazu Ishihara hinting that there are more surprises coming this year. If it is a game announcement, it’s possible that the reveal of this game will be in CoroCoro, which is due any day now and\/or in Nintendo’s special 3DS conference in Japan on Tuesday morning.”<\/p>\n

At this point, I’d imagine the only real “shock announcement” would be cancelling the recycleware franchise with the long-overdue Pokémon: Armageddon, or perhaps they’re following industry trends and doing a Pokémon FPS set in looks-like-Afghanistan.<\/p>\n

Actually, I’d totally play that.<\/p>\n
