Diablo III may or may not be launching in 2011, but you can take it for a test-drive right now – Blizzard’s pushed the big green GO GO GO button on the beta, and started sending out invites to Battle.net users.<\/p>\n
The beta apparently includes roughly the first half of act one, concluding with a boss battle against the Skeleton King, and lets players choose from any of the five announced hero classes.<\/p>\n
That’s the Witch Doctor, Barbarian, Demon Hunter, Wizard, and Monk, for those of you who might have recently arrived on the planet from outer space.<\/p>\n
“This closed beta test is an important milestone for us as we enter the final stages of development on Diablo III,” said Blizzard CEO Mike Morhaime.<\/p>\n
“Our goal is to create the best action role-playing game experience to date, building on everything we’ve learned since the release of Diablo II and incorporating the powerful features of the new Battle.net platform.”<\/p>\n
“We hope players enjoy participating in the beta test and we look forward to hearing their feedback.”<\/p>\n
