EA has confirmed that they’ll be dropping the original Crysis onto console next week – 4 October 2011.<\/p>\n

The game’s been remixed into CryENGINE 3 and supports stereoscopic 3D, if you’re into that sort of thing.<\/p>\n

Crysis will be released as a digital download on the PSN Store and Xbox LIVE Games on Demand Marketplace, and is tagged at £15.99 (or about R200) and 1600 MSP respectively.<\/p>\n

It might have taken four years to make this happen, but it’s never too late to shoot people in the face, I think.<\/p>\n

“By bringing the single-player campaign to console, we believe we are again setting a new standard for quality in downloadable gaming,” said Crytek guy, Cevat Yerli. So there’s that too.<\/p>\n

Unlike the original PC launch of the game, however, this version won’t include any multiplayer features, or either of the expansions, Warhead and Wars. Not yet, anyway – inb4 premium DLC, maybe?<\/p>\n
