Well, this is kind of unexpected.<\/p>\n
Double Fine has released an update for the Steam version of Psychonauts, adding achievements, cloud saves, and some tweaks to the game’s notoriously brutal Meat Circus sequence.<\/p>\n
Just, like, totally out of nowhere, and more than six years after its launch.<\/p>\n
“We are really excited to finally be answering fans’ requests for a more difficult Meat Circus,” said Double Fine prez and ha-ha-just-joker, Tim Schafer<\/a>.<\/p>\n But wait, there’s more.<\/p>\n It turns out that a Mac port has been in the works, and has now been released alongside the update, available from Steam as well as the Mac App Store.<\/p>\n There’s also a freebie iOS Psychonauts Vault Viewer app to go with it, featuring all of the game’s Memory Vault content with commentary from Schafer and co-creator and Scott Campbell.<\/p>\n The game originally launched on PC, PlayStation 2 and Xbox back in 2005, and became an instant cult classic.<\/p>\n Now how about an Xbox LIVE Arcade \/ PlayStation Network release, huh?<\/p>\n
