We caught up with Adrian Green, a gamer who didn’t seem too impressed with what the game had to offer.<\/p>\n
“I had to look up at the banner to see if I was playing Mass Effect 2 or 3,” said Green.<\/p>\n
He went on to say that the game looked like a slightly touched up version of Mass Effect 2 in terms of visuals, and the bit of code they had on demo could’ve been replaced with something that showed off more of the new features of the game, rather than demoing what we’re all already used too.<\/p>\n
That comment set the tone for the rest of our interviews, with others who have played Mass Effect 2 echoing Green’s comments.<\/p>\n

Those who haven’t played mass Effect 2 thought the game looked good, but had very little interest for it. “I don’t want to start playing the third game in a series,” commented one passerby.<\/p>\n
When we eventually got some hands on time with Mass Effect 3, the previous comments made more sense. The game feels almost exactly like the previous version.<\/p>\n
Despite this recurring complaint, I didn’t think this was a particularly bad thing. The gameplay is instantly recognisable to fans of the series, and is relatively simple for someone new to the Mass Effect Universe to pick up on.<\/p>\n
Summed up, ME3 was more of ME2, an extension of the previous game rather than a whole new approach in its own right.<\/p>\n
Batman Arkham City<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n Batman Arkham City was also on the floor at rAge, though it was probably one of the most underrated games judging by crowd size on the Friday, despite having a large, prominent stand.<\/p>\n Things picked up on the second and third day of the expo with everyone wanting in on the action.<\/p>\n The game looked great, and many left the stand with a positive outlook.<\/p>\n James (no relation to the Mygaming overlord) thought the game built on the first (Arkham Asylum) quite well, particularly when it came to the open, expansive environments of the city. James also enjoyed the supposed amount of content in the game regarding the various enemies.<\/p>\n When I got a chance to try my hand at the game, what impressed me was how well the combat and movement system flowed.<\/p>\n Taking on large groups of enemies was challenging rather than frustrating, and I found myself getting immersed in the action, but maybe this was just because I was a fan of the first game.<\/p>\n Those who have played Arkham Asylum will feel at home with Arkham City, though if you missed the first game that isn’t a train smash; you should be up to speed relatively quickly.<\/p>\n![](\"\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/Batman_Arkham_City_Screenshot__17__416318503.jpg\")
