Oh those 2-year-olds; if they’re not spending all your money on apps<\/a> or ignoring the global economic crisis<\/a>, then they’re making a nuisance of themselves by eating away at a large chunk of the gaming industry’s market share.<\/p>\n

In another mind-blowing study by NPD Group – your number one source for broadly-defined statistics – they reveal that the gaming industry is adding 2 – 17 year-olds at a rate higher than that same age-group’s population growth.<\/p>\n

Sit down, folks; that means that the gaming industry is gaining kids as customers faster than moms and dads can produce them.<\/p>\n

If you’re wondering how this is possible – you can blame parents for introducing their kids to mobile apps and games before they stopped pooping themselves.<\/p>\n

The stats were drawn by comparing year-on-year growth from 2009 until 2011.<\/p>\n

Interestingly, NPD notes the fastest adoption growth is for kids aged 2 – 5 years old; proving yet again that children are sneaky and can’t be trusted with anything digital.<\/p>\n
