You wanted Gears of War 3 campaign DLC<\/a>? You got Gears of War 3 campaign DLC!<\/p>\n

As previously promised, Epic Games has officially yanked the gib-clotted tarp back from RAAM’s Shadow, a Gears of War 3 campaign DLC that’s also a prequel.<\/p>\n

Didn’t see that one coming, actually; although that also sums up my online multiplayer experience, and consistency is nice.<\/p>\n

According to Xbox LIVE commander Major Nelson<\/a> (aka community manager Larry Hryb), the three-hour add-on is set before the events of the first game, and features “a cast of characters both new and eerily familiar to the series”.<\/p>\n

There are also six new multiplayer characters, additional achievements adding up to 250 Gamerscore, and something called the Chocolate Weapon Set. I can only assume it’s a bunch of weapons made of chocolate, although the logistics of that are puzzling to say the least.<\/p>\n

“When we announced the Gears 3 Season Pass, we immediately started getting hundreds of questions from fans about what the game add-ons would be,” said Cliff Bleszinski, Epic Games head honcho.<\/p>\n

“We’re really excited to be lifting the curtain on the first two releases, first with the Horde Command Pack and now with RAAM’s Shadow, which gives fans a new perspective on the Gears universe and is also the biggest DLC release we’ve ever made.”<\/p>\n

The DLC is due to drop on 13 December, and tagged at 1200 MSP. If you already own the Season Pass, it’s included in that.<\/p>\n

In other news, Gears of War 3 now has dedicated servers in South Africa<\/a>.<\/p>\n
