Post-release patching is hitting a whole new level of ridiculous with DICE dropping a day-one patch for Battlefield 3.<\/p>\n

Eurogamer<\/a> has reported that the patch for the Xbox 360 will be a whopping (by South African standards at least) 167MB.<\/p>\n

No word on the size of the PS3 patch, but with the amount of updates Sony makes you do, let’s say a million gillion MB. Approximately.<\/p>\n

That means you’ll have to wait about half a day while your internet connection attempts to pretend to work, before you get to sink your teeth into this week’s most anticipated release.<\/p>\n

What will the patch do?<\/p>\n

Well lead game designer, David Goldfarb, tweeted<\/a> a totally non-vague and clear response saying “the day 1 patch has all the final stuff.”<\/p>\n

Wasn’t all the final stuff supposed to be in the game already, Dave?<\/p>\n
