Over the past few days a rumour has been circulating that Avalanche Studios is currently working on Just Cause 3 and that the game will be released next year.<\/p>\n
The studio has released and official statement on the matter, squashing the rumour outright.<\/p>\n
“It’s just a rumour and we’re not releasing any game in 2012,” Just Cause creator Christofer Sundberg told Eurogamer<\/a>.<\/p>\n The original rumour has been traced back to Xbox World Magazine, who cited “spies” as their source when they reported that Just Cause 3 was planned for release next year.<\/p>\n Avalanche has stated that they are working on two “huge titles”, both of which are planned for release in 2013. The developer has not confirmed that Just Cause 3 is one of them, although it seems likely that this is the case, seeing as that Just Cause 2 received generally positive reviews and did relatively well at retail.<\/p>\n
