Mind Sports South Africa has announced that registrations are now open for the 2011 South African LAN Championships.<\/p>\n
It costs R50 to register, and the LAN Championships will take place on 10 and 11 December, 2011 in the Bozzoli Stadium at Wits University.<\/p>\n
The following games will be played at the South African 2011 LAN Championships:<\/p>\n
• Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare
• FIFA’11 (PS3)
• Guitar Hero 5 (Xbox360)
• Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne
• Warcraft III: Defense of the Ancients
• CounterStrike 1.6
• StarCraft II
• Tekken (XBox 360)<\/p>\n
The following medals will be awarded at the event:<\/strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n <\/strong>Premier<\/span>: Medals shall be awarded to the first three players who are registered players.<\/p>\n Scholars<\/span>: Medals shall be awarded to the first three high school scholars, provided they have not received any Premier medals.<\/p>\n University<\/span>: <\/strong>Medals shall be awarded to the first three players who are currently registered at any officially recognised University, provided the players have not received any Premier Medals.<\/p>\n Women<\/span>: A Medal will be awarded to the first woman player who did not receive any other medal.<\/p>\n Players participating in the event will be able to earn the following colours and become elligible for national trials:<\/strong><\/p>\n National Colours<\/span>: <\/strong>All Players that win all of their Matches at a National Championship will earn National Colours.<\/p>\n Provincial Colours<\/span>: <\/strong>All Players that win all of their Matches at a Provincial Championship will earn Provincial Colours. All Players who score within the top 50% in a specific Period at a Provincial Championship, and who also score within the top 50% at a National Championship in the same period and in the same year, will earn Provincial Colours.<\/p>\n National Team Trials<\/span>: <\/strong>All Players that score within the top 20% or top three places, whichever is greater, in a specific Period at a Provincial or National Championship will earn an invitation to National Team Trials. National Team Trials shall be held in the event that a National Team must be selected to represent South Africa when competing in such Period in an International Championship.<\/p>\n MSSA strongly advises players to familiarise themselves with its rules and regulations. <\/a><\/p>\n
