And in today\u2019s hottest new problem with a recently launched triple-A blockbuster, it seems the Xbox 360<\/a> version of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 has started turning up disc-read errors.<\/p>\n

That\u2019s according to a 14-page-and-getting-bigger thread over on the official Xbox.com forums, suggesting this isn\u2019t an isolated issue. Apparently the game fails to start altogether, or starts only to crash some time later with an \u201cUnrecognisable disc\u201d or \u201cUnable to read disc\u201d message.<\/p>\n

Interestingly, it seems to be confined to some consoles only, with the same disc working in a different console with no errors. Some users are reporting that swapping the game for a new copy isn\u2019t working either.<\/p>\n

Several interim fixes have been recommended, including the usual stuff about clearing the console\u2019s cache and cleaning the disc with a soft cloth, although there\u2019s no definitive solution yet.<\/p>\n

Microsoft<\/a> recently moved over to a new disc format for the Xbox, which may or may not be the real culprit behind this.<\/p>\n

I guess the Modern Warfare 3 dev team can just add this one to the list after \u201cMake Elite work, lol\u201d.<\/p>\n
