DICE<\/a> is prepping to launch a \u201csignificant\u201d update for all versions of Battlefield 3, with a PC<\/a> release scheduled for next week, and consoles to follow up \u201cshortly\u201d thereafter, once they\u2019ve gone through certification.<\/p>\n

According to the official Battlefield Blog, the update features \u201cimproved polish, stability, weapons balancing, squad control functionality, user interface enhancements, and several feature enhancements that address feedback the community has provided to date\u201d, including a \u201cnegative mouse acceleration\u201d issue on PC.<\/p>\n

This is presumably the same update that\u2019s going to do something about those damned tactical flashlights that keep getting all up in my face from across the entire map.<\/p>\n

How those things managed to get through an 8-million player public beta without somebody saying, \u201cYou know, those damned tactical flashlights keep getting all up in my face from across the entire map\u201d is quite beyond me.<\/p>\n

In the meantime then, DICE recommends that players \u201ckeep it coming to help us with future improvements\u201d, so now\u2019s our chance to complain about the mortar.<\/p>\n
