{"id":27311,"date":"2011-11-24T12:05:17","date_gmt":"2011-11-24T10:05:17","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mygaming.co.za\/news\/?p=27311"},"modified":"2011-11-24T12:08:57","modified_gmt":"2011-11-24T10:08:57","slug":"free-battlefield-1943-finally-coming-to-ps3-battlefield-3-owners","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mygaming.co.za\/news\/business\/27311-free-battlefield-1943-finally-coming-to-ps3-battlefield-3-owners","title":{"rendered":"Free Battlefield 1943 finally coming to PS3 Battlefield 3 owners"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a title=\"Company Information\" href=\"http:\/\/mygaming.co.za\/forum\/showthread.php\/11851-Electronic-Arts\">EA<\/a>, realising that they can\u2019t get away with accidentally a whole Battlefield 1943 from <a title=\"System Information\" href=\"http:\/\/mygaming.co.za\/forum\/showthread.php\/19888-Playstation-3-%28PS3%29\">PS3<\/a> Battlefield 3 buyers, have come to their senses and are making good on the promise they broke.<\/p>\n<p>Perhaps there was a little nudge from a certain lawsuit?<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere have been some misunderstandings around Battlefield 1943 and Battlefield 3.\u201d Says EA\u2019s website, \u201cTo address this we are making Battlefield 1943 available free of charge to owners of Battlefield 3 on the PS3 beginning this month.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>According to the post, Battlefield 1943 will be available for free download on these dates for PS3 owners:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>November 26: Europe<\/li>\n<li>December 10: North America<\/li>\n<li>December 17: Asia &amp; Japan<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>We\u2019re a PAL territory, so that\u2019s 26 November for us.<\/p>\n<p>To get the game, make sure you have your Battlefield 3 Online Pass, and follow these instructions:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<ol>\n<li>Activate your Battlefield 3 Online Pass for the PlayStation 3 using the voucher included in the game (see step #5 for additional instructions).<\/li>\n<li>Visit 1943redemption.battlefield.com on or after the dates outlined above for your region and log in with your Origin ID and password.<\/li>\n<li>Select your territory. Note vouchers do not work across regions.<\/li>\n<li>You will then receive a PlayStation 3 voucher for Battlefield 1943.<\/li>\n<li>Input your voucher into the <a title=\"Term Information\" href=\"http:\/\/mygaming.co.za\/forum\/showthread.php\/20187-Playstation-Store\">PlayStation Network store<\/a>.
