{"id":28283,"date":"2011-12-01T16:49:18","date_gmt":"2011-12-01T14:49:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mygaming.co.za\/news\/?p=28283"},"modified":"2011-12-01T16:51:57","modified_gmt":"2011-12-01T14:51:57","slug":"ps-vita-umd-passport-is-missing-some-publishers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mygaming.co.za\/news\/business\/28283-ps-vita-umd-passport-is-missing-some-publishers","title":{"rendered":"PS Vita UMD Passport is missing some publishers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Going through our <a title=\"System Information\" href=\"http:\/\/mygaming.co.za\/forum\/showthread.php\/19922-Playstation-Vita-%28PSVita%29\">PS Vita<\/a>-readiness checklist, my Hello Kitty pencil always lingers hesitantly over the little box next to \u201cbackwards compatibility\u201d \u2013 which is what Sony is doing their best to make up for with the <a title=\"Term Information\" href=\"http:\/\/mygaming.co.za\/forum\/showthread.php\/20723-UMD-Universal-Media-Disc\">UMD<\/a> Passport.<\/p>\n<p>The passport, once downloaded, will allow <a title=\"System Information\" href=\"http:\/\/mygaming.co.za\/forum\/showthread.php\/19916-Playstation-Portable-%28PSP%29\">PSP<\/a> owners to download their PSP titles onto the PS Vita at a discounted price. Sure, you have to pay, but it\u2019s better than nothing; right?<\/p>\n<p>The only problem is that, according to Andriasang reports, the current list of titles that you can use the passport with is looking a little bare &#8211; relatively speaking \u2013 with a few big publisher names missing, notably <a title=\"Company Information\" href=\"http:\/\/mygaming.co.za\/forum\/showthread.php\/11891-Square-Enix\">Square-Enix<\/a>, <a title=\"Company Information\" href=\"http:\/\/mygaming.co.za\/forum\/showthread.php\/11843-Capcom\">Capcom<\/a>, <a title=\"Company Information\" href=\"http:\/\/mygaming.co.za\/forum\/showthread.php\/11897-Konami-Digital-Entertainment\">Konami<\/a> and <a title=\"Company Information\" href=\"http:\/\/mygaming.co.za\/forum\/showthread.php\/19944-Namco-Bandai\">Namco-Bandai<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The report says that Sony have confirmed that the publishers are &#8220;on board&#8221; &#8211; but there are over 600 PSP games available in the Japanese <a title=\"Term Information\" href=\"http:\/\/mygaming.co.za\/forum\/showthread.php\/20187-Playstation-Store\">PlayStation Store<\/a>, and the current list of passport-compatible titles is 262 &#8211; if the companies are on board, you&#8217;d expect at least one of their titles to be listed, too.<\/p>\n<p>Still, there&#8217;s time.
