{"id":29118,"date":"2011-12-07T12:58:56","date_gmt":"2011-12-07T10:58:56","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mygaming.co.za\/news\/?p=29118"},"modified":"2011-12-07T13:00:20","modified_gmt":"2011-12-07T11:00:20","slug":"batman-arkham-city-pc-patch-goes-live-on-steam","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mygaming.co.za\/news\/business\/29118-batman-arkham-city-pc-patch-goes-live-on-steam","title":{"rendered":"Batman: Arkham City PC patch goes live on Steam"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Rockstready Studios has rolled out a brand new patch for the <a title=\"System Information\" href=\"http:\/\/mygaming.co.za\/forum\/showthread.php\/21037-PC-Gaming\">PC<\/a> version of Batman: Arkham City.<\/p>\n<p>The patch should be automatically downloaded and installed the next time users run <a title=\"Term Information\" href=\"http:\/\/mygaming.co.za\/forum\/showthread.php\/19930-Steam\">Steam<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The patch gives the game DirectX11 support, although Steam strongly advises that only users with 64bit versions of Windows run it in DX11 mode. If you are running 32bit Windows then you should stick to running the game in DX9 mode.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cUsers running Windows 7 32bit or Windows Vista 32bit should only use DX9 settings until a future patch that addresses this specific issue is released,&#8221; they said, &#8220;We are actively working to address the remaining issue tied to DX11 for users running 32bit versions of Windows Vista or Windows 7.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Patch notes<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Performance \/ hitching issues have been greatly improved for running in DX 11.<\/li>\n<li>An issue with players running out of Video Memory or encountering a Rendering Thread Exceptions has been addressed.\u00a0 This was primarily affecting 32-bit Operating Systems.<\/li>\n<li>A progression block after defeating Ra&#8217;s Al Ghul has been fixed. This issue occurred primarily on lower end computer setups and described as Batman not readying his Reverse Batarang.<\/li>\n<li>A crash that occurred when scrolling between the Character Bios and Arkham City Stories has been fixed.<\/li>\n<li>A crash that occurred when selecting &#8220;Press Start&#8221; immediately when available at the Title Screen has been fixed.
