Known as “push controls”, they allow a player to control and steer their car using only a single finger.

Art director Will Whitaker, with an impressive career history of art director at Sony Computer Entertainment Europe for over five years, said, “I’m delighted by what we have achieved with Smash Cops: our first launch to market as indie developers.

“We identified early on that a lot of touch games use traditional console interfaces on a touch screen resulting in a poor user experience, this became an opportunity and an obsession for the team to improve upon, I hope our progress will delight gamers and influence other third-person touch games in the future.”

Technical director Sean Turner, a lead programmer at Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit and Burnout developer Criterion also added, “Passion, personal commitment, a world of low cost, and accessible development tools allowed us to take a risk with Smash Cops.

“We hope it will show that touch devices can have rich console experiences designed for gaming on the go. Our long term goal is to further develop our IP and work with other publishers and developers in the future on creating cool experiences.”

Given the high potential profits to be made in the touch-gaming industry, Smash Cops could be paving the way for a newer, more high-production-cost approach to gaming on the platform.

Check out the trailer for a look at the gameplay:

Source: Eurogamer

[2
1655,1653,1654,21,1652,531,149,1651
post-29685","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-business","tag-app-store","tag-burnout","tag-fable","tag-headline","tag-hutch","tag-ios","tag-need-for-speed","tag-smash-cops
["GET
