Activision<\/a> hasn’t yet announced what it’s doing with the Call of Duty<\/a> brand this year, but it’s pretty much a foregone conclusion they’ll be launching something<\/em> – and it could be a Black Ops sequel.<\/p>\n

Back in August last year, Activision registered a bunch of domains, including all the Black Ops and Modern Warfare dot coms they’ll ever need (or, at least, for the next year or so), although a blackops2 entry was conspicuously absent from the list. A blackops2 URL had been registered in May 2010 already, but the domain registrant has remained private until just recently – when it changed over to internet brand protection company MarkMonitor, who just happens to have Activision on its client portfolio, how about that.<\/p>\n

Of course, this might be nothing more than Activision making sure that whole thing with the modernwarfare3.com doesn’t happen again, but maybe it’s because they’re doing another Black Ops this year. I mean, it’s really only a matter of time, isn’t it?<\/p>\n
