2012 is looking sure to be an utterly glorious year for gaming.<\/p>\n

Although the first few months are looking a little thin, as we move towards the middle of the year, things are scheduled to get pretty crazy, with the likes of Mass Effect 3, XCOM, Hitman Absolution, Borderlands 2, Bioshock Infinite, Far Cry 3 and loads more all expected.<\/p>\n

Today I\u2019m taking a look at some of the year\u2019s most exciting PC exclusives. Why PC exclusives? Well because games developed exclusively for one platform tend to make the best of the hardware, and PC gamers are looking particularly spoilt in 2012.<\/p>\n

Here are the 5 PC exclusive titles I\u2019m looking most forward to this year:<\/p>\n

5. StarCraft II: Heart of the Swarm<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The second release in the StarCraft II trilogy is expected to drop in 2012.<\/p>\n

Gamers will get to play the Zerg campaign, and it will also introduce new units and rebalance the multiplayer portion of the game. Heart of the Swarm is a day-one purchase for any self-respecting StarCraft fan.<\/p>\n

4. MechWarrior Online<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Piranha Game\u2019s Mechwarrior Online is a real-time strategy game based on the famed MechWarrior franchise that many older PC gamers should be familiar with. It is expected out sometime in the second half of 2012.<\/p>\n

3. DOTA 2<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Valve\u2019s DOTA 2 is undoubtedly one of the year\u2019s most important releases. The first iteration of the game was a user-created WarCraft III map.<\/p>\n

With long time DotA developer “IceFrog” at the helm, it will be interesting to see the direction Valve takes in updating the formula which spawned an entire genre.<\/p>\n

2. Guild Wars 2<\/strong><\/h3>\n

ArenaNet\u2019s subscription-free MMORPG looks set to introduce some revolutionary changes to the MMO space. This video pretty much says it all.<\/p>\n
