EA has announced that the demos for fantasy RPG Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning and sci-fi RPG Mass Effect 3 will each unlock bonus stuff in the other game.<\/p>\n

I’m not sure how that works out in terms of official canon, but I suppose some rift in the time-space continuum just off the Kepler Verge could explain it.<\/p>\n

If we can have a whole race of gigantic sentient robot-ships out to ruin humanity, I don’t think a cross-dimensional gate is all that unbelievable.<\/p>\n

Finishing the Reckoning demo will put the Reckoner Knight Armor and an explosive Chakram Launcher in Commander Shepard’s locker on the Normandy.<\/p>\n

Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning<\/p><\/div>\n

The Mass Effect 3 demo magicks a medievalised set of N7 armour and Omniblade Daggers into the world of Amalur.<\/p>\n

Both lots of gear were designed by Spawn creator and Reckoning executive art director Todd McFarlane, so they’re about as gratuitously spiky and intimidating as you’d expect.<\/p>\n

The Reckoning demo is out on 17 January 2012, and the Mass Effect 3 demo is due to launch “sometime” this month (January 2012).<\/p>\n
