What followed was a torrent of gossip and speculation, which was eventually silenced with a single facebook update earlier this week:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Stalker team is extremely happy! Why? Because we are continuing work on Stalker 2 after the holidays.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>GSC GameWorld did not provide any additional details or explanation for the rumours.<\/p>\n<p>However, in an interview with Edge, the studio\u2019s Oleg Yavorsky said \u201cWe are still in the process of seeking funding to back up the project. We are hopeful things turn out well eventually.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>So while development may currently be underway, the future of the game remains up in the air.
