If you were planning to grab Trine 2 for your PS3<\/a>, you’ll have to wait a little longer.<\/p>\n

Publisher Atlus<\/a> and Developer Frozenbyte<\/a> have announced that the release of Trine 2 for PlayStation 3 via PSN<\/a> has been delayed.<\/p>\n

“We sincerely apologize for the frustration this ongoing delay has caused our European fans, as it is a frustration we (ATLUS and Frozenbyte) also share.\u00a0 We assure the community that everything within our influence is being done to release Trine 2 for PAL PS3 system users as soon as possible, and we humbly ask for our fans’ continued patience and understanding.<\/p>\n

In case you were wondering, South Africa falls under the PAL region for releases, and so this delay effects us Southern hemisphere dwellers too.<\/p>\n

Trine 2 is available on most other major platforms, PC<\/a> (Windows\/MacOS), Xbox LIVE<\/a>, and even the North American PSN. A version is also in the works for Linux gamers.<\/p>\n

South African PC gamers can expect the physical boxed copy to hit shelves on 10 February 2012.<\/p>\n

Trine 2 retail for Windows<\/a> and MacOS<\/a> PCs will come in the form of a mini collector’s edition of sorts, containing: the full game; its majestic soundtrack (by composer Ari Pulkkinen of Angry Birds and Outland Fame); a snazzy artbook featuring comments by the Frozenbyte developers; and also the first Trine game. The recommended retail price is R149.95.<\/p>\n

Trine 2 is the sequel to indie hit, Trine, which was published and developed by Frozenbyte, and has seen nearly 1 million copies sold.<\/p>\n

Trine 2<\/a> brings more of the high-fantasy, side-scrolling action-adventure, physics-based puzzle-solving hijinkery of its progenitor, but with added online multiplayer co-op spice (up to 3 players).<\/p>\n
