There’s not much on the Xbox<\/a>‘s exclusive IP launch schedule for 2012, but there’s no cause for alarm Xbox fanboys and fangirls – it’s about quality, not quantity.<\/p>\n

Of course, Microsoft<\/a> would kind of have<\/em> to say that, but shhh, let’s pretend…<\/p>\n

The major exclusives announced so far for 2012 are Halo 4, Alan Wake’s American Nightmare, the Kinect<\/a>-powered Fable: Journey, and Ryse, although there are also previously PC<\/a> exclusive titles such as The Witcher II and Minecraft<\/a> that won’t be releasing on PS3<\/a>.<\/p>\n

“Creating core IP, as many first-and third-parties have seen over the years, isn’t an easy thing,” Xbox boss Phil Spencer told Game Informer.<\/p>\n

“I went through the process of creating Gears with Epic<\/a> and I know the sweat, time, and effort that went into it. I also worked on things like Alan Wake, Too Human, Crackdown, and stuff that didn’t hit the same level of success, but had an equal amount of sweat equity and heart go into getting created.”<\/p>\n

“So it will continue to be something that we focus on with new partners like Crytek<\/a> and new people that aren’t announced yet.\u00a0 We do think that it’s fundamental that core gamers look at 360 as the place they want to play games.”<\/p>\n

“I do think that it’s [about] quality and impact, not number of releases in a year,” he added.<\/p>\n

Mmmm, let’s see if gamers agree about that.<\/p>\n
