Last year we reported on Ubisoft<\/a> asking you, the Assassin’s Creed-hungry gamer, to vote on where you’d next like to see the series go in terms of historical setting in something guised as “market research”<\/p>\n

Well, if an industry source “close to the project” that spoke to CVG is to be believed (and they’re often not) – then one of the listed settings is pegged as the winner: The American Revolution.<\/p>\n

It’s not a far stretch to think it would be the most popular choice – Ubisoft has catered to the Europeans for long enough now, what with us traipsing all over the Mediterranean for four games.<\/p>\n

Plus if you recall, the secret code discoveried had pegged Mr. George Washington as an owner of one of the Apples of Eden.<\/p>\n

Of course, it’s said that Medieval China and Victorian England are also still in the running, which indicates we should take this with a pinch of salt: Ubisoft want AC3 out by the end of this year – surely they can’t still be trying to decide on an integral part to the game?<\/p>\n

In any event, we’ll wait for the official announcement before we celebrate anything – but we definitely welcome a vastly different setting.<\/p>\n
