Aliens: Colonial Marines was recently re-re-re-delayed to a Q3 launch, but that’s because Gearbox<\/a> wants to make sure it’s the best it can be, oorah<\/em>.<\/p>\n

In an interview with the PlayStation Blog, Gearbox sergeant Randy Pitchford described the game as a “dream project” and\u00a0 “a labor of love” for the studio.<\/p>\n

“We\u2019re fully committed to our vision for the game,” he said about the delay. “Creating deadlines is helpful to the process, but we do regret where it creates expectations that cause us to choose between changing expectations or compromising the vision.”<\/p>\n

The game has been in development since 2006, and was later rumoured to have been cancelled before reappearing just in time for E3<\/a> last year. So what’s it going to be all about?<\/p>\n

“I would say that the player\u2019s experience for Aliens: Colonial Marines will tend closer to the gritty realism side,” explained Pitchford. “I say that because sometimes the gameplay footage we use for marketing will tend to focus more on the action \u2014 which is definitely in there \u2014 but you can\u2019t really feel difficulty and challenge as well when you\u2019re trying to promote and market the game using promotional footage.”<\/p>\n

So gritty and realistic space marines-versus-aliens with action, difficulty, and challenge. Another glorious day in the Corps! A day in the Marine Corps is like a day on the farm. Every meal’s a banquet! Every paycheck a fortune! Every formation a parade! I LOVE the Corps! Etc.<\/p>\n
