Out-spoken (and often hilarious) co-founder of Eat Sleep Play, David Jaffe, is leaving the company.<\/p>\n

The report comes in just weeks ahead of the company’s latest title, PS3-exclusive Twisted Metal, getting its Euro release after numerous cuts and edits.<\/p>\n

According to Jaffe’s tweets, he wasn’t “laid-off” – as co-owner of the company, that would be a bit weird – but rather because he was finding it too difficult to direct games from 300 miles away.<\/p>\n

“I miss the [day-to-day] of working [directly with a] team,” he twote.<\/p>\n

The company had recently laid off a few employees, after Twisted Metal launched in the US, which Jaffe described as difficult to do.<\/p>\n

From the side of remaining co-owner Scott Campbell, he merely described the situation as “we’re kind of going down two separate paths.”<\/p>\n

According to a Salt Lake Tribune report, Eat Sleep Play will be moving on from console gaming to focus on mobile gaming.<\/p>\n

Jaffe has made it clear he has no plans on developing social games as was widely reported.<\/p>\n

“I have zero plans to make games like FARMVILLE and ANGRY BIRDS. I never said what I was doing post [Twisted Metal].”<\/p>\n

Twisted Metal was cleared for a new release date of 7 March 2012 for Europe.<\/p>\n
