So Mass Effect 3 on PC won’t include official controller support, and it turns out that’s because the dev team just didn’t get around to it. Programming buttons is time-consuming stuff.<\/p>\n

“There is a development cost in terms of time\/effort to get all the graphical user interfaces so 360 buttons show up on PC,” senior designer Manveer Heir explained on Twitter.<\/p>\n

“It may seem minor, but our GUI team was already stretched thin, and things were coming in at the last minute, so we couldn’t add more work.”<\/p>\n

Responding to a suggestion that BioWare simply didn’t “give a damn”, Heir said that “Definitely not ‘we don’t give a damn’. It’s unfortunate and I understand why people are upset, but there are dev realities, sadly.”<\/p>\n

Of course, the more conspiracy-minded of you out there might point to the hot, new, expensive range of Mass Effect 3-themed PC peripherals from Razer, including a keyboard and mouse tagged at about R1120 and R650 respectively. Hm.<\/p>\n
