Yesterday’s news that you should “lower your expectations” for Diablo III was a joke, people. A joke<\/em>.<\/p>\n

It was such a funny joke, in fact, that nobody even realised it was a joke – which makes it more like satire, which is even funnier because it’s sophisticated. Haha, look at all you guys who fell for that clever joke<\/em>.<\/p>\n

\u201cSome of you might have seen some headlines of a certain (obviously sarcastic) blue post that implies that we\u2019re unsteady about where Diablo III stands, and that you should temper your expectations when it comes to the next installment in the Diablo series,\u201d game director Jay Wilson wrote in a special ‘It Was A Joke’-edition notice on Blizzard<\/a>‘s forums.<\/p>\n

\u201cLet me be clear: Nothing could be further from the truth.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs those of you in the beta have seen, the game is in good shape. Actually, I should say that the beta version of the game is in good shape. The latest full build we\u2019ve been testing here in the office is in great shape.<\/p>\n

“And by the way, we want you to have high expectations for Diablo III and all Blizzard games. That\u2019s what pushes us to try to make the best gaming experiences we possibly can. If Diablo III wasn\u2019t a worthy next installment in the Diablo series, we wouldn\u2019t release it. That\u2019s the way we do it. That\u2019s the way we\u2019ve always done it.”<\/p>\n

And it was joke. So everybody’s clear on that now. A joke<\/em>. Yes, that’s exactly what it was.<\/p>\n
