Here is what we already knew:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The game is being published by EA and developed by the same studio that bought us 2010\u2019s Medal of Honor reboot, Danger Close Studios.<\/li>\n<li>Medal of Honor: Warfighter will be released in October 2012.<\/li>\n<li>It will take place in Afghanistan, and follow the story of Western Tier 1 operatives.<\/li>\n<li>Unlike its predecessor, Medal of Honor: Warfighter will be developed solely by Danger Close. Danger Close developed Medal of Honor\u2019s single player campaign, while DICE was pulled in to work on the multiplayer.<\/li>\n<li>It will run on EA\u2019s Frostbite 2.0 engine, which is the same technology that powers Battlefield 3.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Now that you\u2019re up to speed, here is what we\u2019ve just learned from an interview with the game\u2019s producer, Greg Goodrich.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The game will feature a new one-shot-kill hardcore mode.<\/li>\n<li>It will introduce a new kind of co-operative play, although no more details were shared on this.<\/li>\n<li>Danger Close used real stories shared by marines in Afghanistan to develop the game\u2019s storylines.<\/li>\n<li>Although the game will closely follow the recent conflict in the Middle East, we should not expect it to recreate the Osama Bin Laden assassination. &#8220;That&#8217;s not our story to tell,&#8221; said Goodrich.<\/li>\n<li>The following characters will return from the previous game: Preacher, Voodoo, Mother, as well as others.<\/li>\n<li>The flooded Isabela City in the Philippines is one of the game\u2019s confirmed locations.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>A full reveal is expected at next week\u2019s Game Developer\u2019s Conference in San Francisco.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_32941\" style=\"width: 523px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/mygaming.co.za\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/02\/MOHWARgenKEYART.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-32941\" class=\"size-full wp-image-32941\" title=\"Medal of Honor: Warfighter\" src=\"http:\/\/mygaming.co.za\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/02\/MOHWARgenKEYART.jpg\" alt=\"Medal of Honor: Warfighter\" width=\"513\" height=\"640\" srcset=\"https:\/\/mygaming.co.za\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/02\/MOHWARgenKEYART.jpg 513w, https:\/\/mygaming.co.za\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/02\/MOHWARgenKEYART-240x300.jpg 240w, https:\/\/mygaming.co.za\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/02\/MOHWARgenKEYART-200x250.jpg 200w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 513px) 100vw, 513px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-32941\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Medal of Honor: Warfighter<\/p><\/div>\n<p>The broader consensus regarding 2010&#8217;s Medal of Honor reboot was that it was a huge disappointment.
