The iPad 2 has received a price cut at Apple Premium Reseller (APR) DigiCape, indicating that price cuts at other South African retailers may be imminent.<\/p>\n

This follows the announcement on Wednesday (7 March 2012) of the new iPad where Apple also revealed that it would continue selling the iPad 2 at a reduced price.<\/p>\n

While US pricing of the device was reduced by $100 across the board, South Africa\u2019s iPad 2 prices look like they\u2019ll be slashed by R1,000 or more.<\/p>\n

Though local iPad 2 prices have suffered under a weakening Rand, these cuts bring the cost of the device below its original 2011 launch price.<\/p>\n

The table below shows the new iPad 2 pricing next to the previous recommended retail price.<\/p>\n
