Blizzard has announced that it has removed the PvP component from Diablo III because it was not living up to their standards.<\/p>\n
\u201cToday, we wanted to let you know that we\u2019ve made the difficult decision to hold back the PvP Arena system and release it in a patch following the game\u2019s launch. After a lot of consideration and discussion, we ultimately felt that delaying the whole game purely for PvP would just be punishing to everyone who\u2019s waiting to enjoy the campaign and core solo\/co-op content, all of which is just about complete,\u201d said game director Jay Wilson on the Diablo III blog.<\/p>\n
The post also states that the PvP patch will add multiple arena maps with themed locations, as well as PvP-centric achievements and a matchmaking system.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhile we work on making sure PvP lives up to its full potential, we hope you\u2019ll find some consolation in the fact that soon, you\u2019ll be having a blast leveling characters, finding items, learning the classes, and perfecting builds\u2026and that when the Arenas do arrive, you\u2019ll be all the better prepared for battle.\u201d<\/p>\n
There is still no confirmed release date for Diablo III, although many are anticipating an announcement soon.<\/p>\n
