If chatting and shopping aren’t doing it for you, Valve<\/a> has confirmed that they’ll be adding a bunch of new features to the iOS<\/a> and Android<\/a> Steam<\/a> app in the future so that “all relevant Steam community and economy features are accessible from your mobile device.”<\/p>\n

Soon, you’ll never<\/em> have to leave the toilet.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019d love to see individual games hook into the service and provide mobile-optimized web pages and experiences that we can link to from the game description pages,” Valve engineer, Kutta Srinivasan, told Gamasutra. “In general, we have a healthy list and expect it to grow, with new opportunities presenting themselves as the list becomes more robust.”<\/p>\n

For the moment, that includes adding the ability to see your Steam library, as well as improved screenshot features.<\/p>\n

But wait, there’s more!<\/p>\n

“In an upcoming [update], the Steam app will be able to act as a two-factor authentication device to bolster the security on your primary Steam account,” he said. “If your phone is lost or stolen, simply changing the password on your account will invalidate the tokens used by the application to access Steam.”<\/p>\n
