Praise for the new iPad<\/a> is coming from all corners of the technology world, including big names in the gaming industry.<\/p>\n

Mike Capps, president of Epic Games<\/a>, noted that “Apple is definitely building their devices as if they care a lot about \u2018triple-A\u2019 games.”<\/p>\n

Triple-A titles are often big budget productions usually found on the more popular consoles such as the Xbox 360<\/a> and the PlayStation 3<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Capps believes that Apple<\/a> can challenge popular home consoles with the addition of a Bluetooth controller used for interacting with the games.<\/p>\n

“It is quite easy to imagine a world where an iPad is more powerful than a home console, where it wirelessly talks to your TV and wirelessly talks to your controller and becomes your new console,” Capps said.<\/p>\n

Frank Gibeau, president of Electronic Arts<\/a>\u2019 (EA) labels said his company is also keeping a close eye on the iPad.<\/p>\n

“When the iPad gets to the processing power that\u2019s equal to an Xbox 360 and it connects to a television, that\u2019s no big deal to us. We\u2019ll put the game through the iPad and have it display through the television,” Gibeau said.<\/p>\n

EA has already released titles on the iPad including \u201cDead Space\u201d, and Gibeau noted that the iPad is becoming more of a player in the industry. \u201cIt used to be, oh hey, it\u2019s just the Nintendo<\/a>, Sony<\/a> and Microsoft<\/a> show, but that\u2019s not the case anymore,\u201d Gibeau concluded.<\/p>\n
