{"id":34203,"date":"2012-03-15T10:31:51","date_gmt":"2012-03-15T08:31:51","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mygaming.co.za\/news\/?p=34203"},"modified":"2012-03-15T10:43:29","modified_gmt":"2012-03-15T08:43:29","slug":"three-more-publishers-join-eas-origin-platform","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mygaming.co.za\/news\/business\/34203-three-more-publishers-join-eas-origin-platform","title":{"rendered":"Three more publishers join EA&#8217;s Origin platform"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>EA&#8217;s Origin digital retail platform is continuing to grow its publisher catalogue, with Sega, Rebellion, Kalypso and Team 17 joining the roster of companies that are selling their games through Origin.<\/p>\n<p>Total War: Shogun II \u2013 Fall of the Samurai will be Sega\u2019s first game to be sold on Origin, and pre-orders are now available.<\/p>\n<p>The recent additions bring the the total number of publishers on the platform to 35.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;By partnering with publishers like SEGA, we&#8217;re able to bring even more of the industry&#8217;s best games to players on Origin,&#8221; commented EA exec Craig Rechenmacher.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;With 11 million registered users around the world, Origin is fast becoming the destination for consumers looking for fresh new content to play with their friends.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Let&#8217;s not forget that while 11 million registered users may sound impressive, EA&#8217;s big titles of late (Battlefield 3, Mass Effect 3) require an Origin registration in order to play.<\/p>\n<p>EA launched Origin in June 2011 with hopes to compete against Valve\u2019s Steam platform, which accounts for the majority of global digital PC games sales.<\/p>\n<p>Are you using Origin to buy games?
