BioWare<\/a> has cancelled a planned expansion for Dragon Age 2, but they’re not giving up on the series altogether. Not just yet, anyway.<\/p>\n

“We will still be keeping an eye out for any issues that might crop up in DAII and supporting the community should any emergencies arise, we\u2019re moving the entire team\u2019s focus to the next phase of Dragon Age\u2019s future,” executive producer Mark Darrah<\/a> explained over on the company’s forums.<\/p>\n

“You\u2019ve most certainly heard the rumors floating around, and unfortunately I can\u2019t really comment on them.\u00a0 However, what I can say is that we\u2019ve been thinking a lot about Dragon Age \u2013 what it means, and where it could go. This past year, we\u2019ve spent a lot of time both going back to the ‘BioWare vault’ of games and re-examining them, and looking at some new possibilities that today\u2019s industry allows.”<\/p>\n

After the, uh, controversy surrounding Dragon Age 2, I’d imagine that “where it could go” is probably right back to the start.<\/p>\n

Not that it matters to forum poster and very important person, CRISIS1717, who declared that “Sorry Mark, I am entirely done with Dragon Age after DA2 threw the successful formula established in DAO out the window and I do not plan on buying DA3 either.”<\/p>\n

Oh, no. I’m sure everybody at BioWare will be totally devastated. ;_;<\/p>\n
