{"id":34784,"date":"2012-03-26T14:27:19","date_gmt":"2012-03-26T12:27:19","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mygaming.co.za\/news\/?p=34784"},"modified":"2012-03-26T14:29:26","modified_gmt":"2012-03-26T12:29:26","slug":"gog-com-prepping-to-go-newer-fresher-bigger-tomorrow","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mygaming.co.za\/news\/business\/34784-gog-com-prepping-to-go-newer-fresher-bigger-tomorrow","title":{"rendered":"GOG.com prepping to go &#8220;newer, fresher, bigger&#8221; tomorrow"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>What&#8217;s <a title=\"Company Information\" href=\"http:\/\/mygaming.co.za\/forum\/showthread.php\/20693-GOG-Good-old-Games\">GOG.com<\/a> got planned for 9.00 AM GMT tomorrow morning?<\/p>\n<p>Well, you&#8217;ll have to wait until 10 AM local time to find out, but according to an announcement-about-the-announcement page over on the site, the important words are apparently &#8220;newer&#8221;, &#8220;fresher&#8221;, and &#8220;bigger&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>Over the last couple of days, the site has been releasing a series of videos showing off some of GOG.com&#8217;s big incentives, including zero <a title=\"Term Information\" href=\"http:\/\/mygaming.co.za\/forum\/showthread.php\/20299-DRM-Digital-Rights-Management\">DRM<\/a>; a standardised pricetag for all regions; and loads of bonus extras. The last video somewhat misleadingly advertises complimentary cake, but I suppose that could be difficult to ship. Cake is best eaten fresh.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;What are they for? What are they advertising? We won\u2019t say&#8211;you know how we are&#8211;but you can look at our &#8216;Making of&#8217; album for the videos here, if you\u2019d like to speculate wildly,&#8221; adds the accompanying excitement text.<\/p>\n<p>My guess? They&#8217;re going to be launching a full digital download platform like <a title=\"System Information\" href=\"http:\/\/mygaming.co.za\/forum\/showthread.php\/19930-Steam\">Steam<\/a>, including new games.
