The cash injection came from a government implemented tax-break.

It is good to see a small indie developer on the rise in the face of the economic recession. It is especially motivating when we consider that behemoths like EA and THQ are struggling financially.

So what next for Stardock?

Well their current focus is on their turn-based fantasy based strategy title “Elemental: War of Magic”. The game should wrap up at the end of this year. From there, Stardock will move their efforts into an ambitious project called “Society”.

Society is currently pegged as a massively multiplayer online real-time strategy game where players will vie for the control of various provinces. Not much is known right now, but we do know that the game will never sleep; meaning players provinces will be open to attack while they are away.

Stardock has also been working on Demigod, a DOTA style PC exlusive scheduled for release in the next few months.

When asked about further future plans, Stardock CEO Brad Wardell commented that they would like to do an RPG, mentioning Bioware titles Baldur’s Gate II and Knights of the old Republic.

So the future is looking bright and busy, at least for this independent games developer.

Source

After taking on 53 new employees, Sins of a Solar Empire developer talks about its future plans

[2

post-3479","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-business
["GET
