Probably the world\u2019s most successful casual games developers, Rovio Entertainment<\/a>, has today announced the acquisition of Futuremark Games Studios.<\/p>\n

Within the broader games industry culture, the two companies seemingly couldn\u2019t stand further apart. Rovio has built its success on a single smash hit casual iOS<\/a> game, while Futuremark has spent years developing hardcore PC<\/a> benchmarking software.<\/p>\n

Futuremark Games Studios are the gaming arm of Futuremark, which is not part of the acquisition. Futuremark Games recently released Shattered Horizon, Hungribles and Unstoppable Gorg. These IPs will remain part of the Futuremark Games library – which is now Rovio’s game library.<\/p>\n
