{"id":35592,"date":"2012-04-07T09:00:14","date_gmt":"2012-04-07T07:00:14","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mygaming.co.za\/news\/?p=35592"},"modified":"2012-04-10T11:01:54","modified_gmt":"2012-04-10T09:01:54","slug":"microsoft-wants-kinect-to-recognise-your-posture-and-tone-of-voice","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mygaming.co.za\/news\/business\/35592-microsoft-wants-kinect-to-recognise-your-posture-and-tone-of-voice","title":{"rendered":"Microsoft wants Kinect to recognise your posture and tone of voice"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In a further step towards electronics becoming self-aware and enslaving the human race, Microsoft\u2019s Kinect chief Kudo Tsunoda wants future versions of the device to react to players\u2019 posture and tone of voice.<\/p>\n<p>Tsunoda said R&amp;D is focusing on \u201chow we can make people more like actors within a narrative.\u201d Or subjects of the robot overmind.<\/p>\n<p>He continued, &#8220;We want to get to the stage where not only can Kinect detect what you&#8217;re saying but also tone of voice and body stance, and work that into the narrative. There are some really compelling experiences to be gained from that.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>He also said that they\u2019d like to &#8220;create experiences that help you develop real world skills that help you in other parts of your life,\u201d which is odd since we already have The Sims.<\/p>\n<p>Kudo added that he was excited by what they are seeing from Kinect\u2019s \u201cdevelopment community\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It&#8217;s been great to see how people are using Kinect in ways that we would never have thought of.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I&#8217;m continually surprised by the stuff we see from Kinect&#8217;s development community on a daily basis.
