It looks like once again Kickstarter donators are coming through to get some really cool projects off the ground, with Brian Fargo\u2019s funding for Wasteland 2 hitting the $2 million mark.<\/p>\n
We\u2019ve spoken before about how Tim Schafer\u2019s overwhelming Kickstarter success has brought more eyes to the site (and more money to the developers), and Fargo is now all but certain to hit the $2.1 million mark which he promised would bring industry veteran Chris Avellone, who Fargo worked with at Interplay.<\/p>\n
“We look forward to having Chris bring his style and prose to the game,” Fargo wrote.<\/p>\n
Fargo goes on to explain what kind of extra stuff we can expect if the game manages to reach $2.5 and $3 million.<\/p>\n
“One of the questions I constantly get is an understanding of what happens when donations continue to grow. The question is especially important as I think there are more RPG gamers out there than almost any other category,” Fargo explained.<\/p>\n
“I would like to give a little visibility on what we would expect to add to the game if we hit $2.5 million and $3.0 million. And do keep in mind that ALL money raised goes into development.”<\/p>\n
“This will not only increase the overall size and depth of the world, but it translates to more story lines and more player options as well,” wrote Fargo.<\/p>\n
He also noted that if funding increased, he may add a level editor to the game.<\/p>\n
